What a typical 1:1online tutoring session looks like

Although we use modern technology to deliver the 1:1online

sessions, the basic format is very simple.

​

Each required practical introduction session starts with a thorough explanation of the title to make sure basic scientific concepts are understood. Once students are comfortable with this, we will work through the independent, dependent and control variables if applicable.

 

The goal, is to produce a plan for the investigation method that would achieve full marks if a GCSE question asked for a method to be written for that investigation.

The construction of this plan will be based on questioning and answering.

The exam question session will be based on the required practical chosen and techniques explained which will allow the question to be broken down and understood before being attempted.

Requirements:​

A fairly large screen (possible on a mobile phone but not ideal)

Pupils are free to make notes but an image will be sent of the work completed.

(Pen, paper, 3 highlighters, calculator).
